

The IFSS Course 2025 is part of a series of IFSS 2025 events, which are held 41 days before in-person activities. This course contains lectures with the main theme “Exploring Forestry in the Island of Borneo”, with 10 different topics, as follows:

- Peatland Restoration As a Strategy for Addressing Climate Change
- The Borneo Endemics: A Massive Biodiversity of Flora
- The Borneo Endemics: Protecting Endangered Fauna
- Prospering the Community and Preserving Environment through Agroforestry
- Challenges in Ecotourism as Rehabilitation and Conservation Center
- Sustainable Timber Exploitation: Urgency and Challenges
- Alternative Non-Timber Forest Product as Potential Commodities in Borneo
- Impactful Reclamation Strategy
Apart from lectures, the IFSS 2025 Course also includes a panel discussion entitled “Implementation of Carbon Credit System in Peatland Restoration Area”, a workshop entitled “Build Community-Based Ecotourism”, final presentation from participants and international night.
The IFSS Course is intended for anyone interested in learning about Borneo’s forests, from vocational school students, undergraduate to doctoral students, forestry workers, and the general public. This course will feature speakers from diverse backgrounds, including academia, government, corporations, and non-governmental organizations involved in the Borneo forest sector.
