Are you skilled in GIS and passionate about teaching? The International Forestry Students Association is looking for volunteer trainers to deliver a 2 hour a day 3-day beginner-level GIS course focused on practical applications. We expect to run this training in February ending 2026. This will enable the capacity development of students around the world.

The deadline for application is by the 10th February 2026.

Course Details

  • Duration: 2 hours/day over 3 days
  • Audience: Beginners with no prior GIS experience
  • Format: Over Zoom

Topics to Cover

  1. Working with QGIS Interface
  2. Data Acquisition & Management
  3. Basic Data Editing
  4. Symbolization &Map Visualization
  5. Introduction to GIS Applications

  Trainer Requirements

  • Experience in GIS training, particularly with beginners.
  • Proficiency in QGIS or similar tools.
  • Must be fluent in English language 

You will be provided with a certificate that you were a trainer in this program by IFSA and signed by the IFSA President
