 es of land have been identified for restoration, which creates high require
 ments for finance. There are diverse financing and market-based sources to
 raise these funds, among them: development cooperation resources, climate f
 inance, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), State budgets, environmenta
 l funds, crowdfunding and private sector investments. This session aims at
 providing an overview of what is forest finance, what are the different fin
 ancing mechanisms available, and highlight lessons learned from projects o
