XV World Forestry Congress Delegation Open Call

The XV World Forestry Congress will take place in Seoul, Republic of Korea from the 2nd to the 6th of May 2022, with a Pre-Congress from the 30th of April to the 1st of May. IFSA is going to send a delegation of selected individuals to the Congress to learn, gain experiences and raise the voice of the youth.

WHAT IS THE WORLD FORESTRY CONGRESS?
The Congress is a forum for the exchange of views and experiences on all aspects of forests and forestry. Organized approximately every six years, the Congress provides a periodical opportunity to produce an overview of the sector, in order to discern trends, adapt policies, create awareness in decision-makers, and influence public opinion. It is a valuable forum for strengthening the role of forests in general as well as in the context of critical environmental, economic and social issues and taking into account the developments in the global sustainable development agenda.

For more information on the event, visit https://wfc2021korea.org/index.html

IFSA will pay for delegates’ conference tickets, accommodation and at least 50% of travelling expenses for the 15 selected delegates. IFSA will not pay for any COVID-related expenses, such as tests or accommodation during isolation. However, IFSA encourages applicants to look for external funding opportunities as well, such as the WFC financial support scheme. Note that the application deadline is the 31st of January. IFSA will only be able to reimburse delegates after the event, so all participants will have to initially pay for their own expenses.

If you are not selected as the IFSA delegate, you can still register for the congress through the official website. IFSA will not be covering tickets, accommodation or travel costs for people who have not been selected as delegates.

IFSA is looking for dynamic people to engage, participate and report on this world class event. We are searching for a diverse group of individuals (level of education, field of study, gender, region, etc.) that can contribute in their own way to the delegation. When filling out the application form, let us know what you think you can bring to the team (for example: leadership, good writing skills, understanding of international level engagement in the forestry field, social media presence, experience, etc.). In other words, tell us how unique you are.

You can apply through this form.
Deadline of the application is the 5th of January 2022, 23:59 UTC+0.
