Dear IFSA Northern America and CARM 2020 Participants,

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that CARM 2020 is cancelled.
This decision was made over several days of careful consideration of the news, state and University actions, in consultation of our LC adviser, the IFSA Board, and the Dean of the College of Forestry here at Oregon State University.
Considering that both Oregon State University and the State of Oregon are currently taking preventative measures against the spread of COVID-19, we must respect those measures in order to protect our IFSA family and the communities we represent. As young people, we are the least affected by this virus, but it is essential to act in solidarity with the most vulnerable for the best interest of our society.
We are monitoring the situation as it progresses, and if a safe and convenient time presents itself in the future, we may reschedule with a new date within the end of the year.
If you have already paid your registration fee, we will be issuing refunds in the next few weeks. We kindly ask for your patience and to stay tuned for more information.
In the meantime, IFSA is working to provide substitute online activities to replace the cancelled events, making sure that our community will go ahead in our Region. Last but not least, a COVID-19 Task Force has been established to facilitate a communication channel between our LCs and members, with information from credible sources and updates from IFSA which can be found on the COVID-19 webpage.

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may bring, and are happy to answer any questions you have.

Best wishes and sincerest apologies,

On behalf of the organizing committee, with the support of the IFSA Board,

The CARM 2020 Organizing Committee

Damiano Cilio
IFSA Vice-president
