Backgrounds
RECOFTC, The Center for People and Forests, is an NPO which focuses on community forestry in Asia-Pacific region, envisioning a future where the people in the region live equitably and sustainably in and alongside thriving forests and healthy, resilient landscapes.
Community forestry is a broad term used to describe models of forest management that include local people’s opinions in decision-making. It enables local people to secure long-term rights to use and manage forests sustainably, and to maximize the livelihood benefits that they receive from those rights.
In this course, you will:
- Learn the reason to involve local communities in forest management
- Learn factors to make community forestry successful
- Receive a Certificate of Completion
