EU CAP Network Thematic Group  on Rural Youth Employment: The Voice of Rural Youth

Expression of Interest

The CAP Implementation Contact Point is launching a new Thematic Group (TG) on Rural Youth Employment. You are invited to express your interest in becoming a member of the Thematic Group and to forward the invitation to any relevant colleagues or potential candidates, particularly young people.

The main objective of this TG is to explore various approaches to developing sustainable and high-quality rural jobs accessible to young people and thereby inform relevant policies.

This new TG will take a holistic approach to explore the mechanisms to support the employment of rural young people, considering developments in the rural job market, ongoing global trends, but also relevant policies, and available tools, initiatives, and funds. More details are available on the EU CAP Network website.

The TG will consist of a small but dedicated cross-section of informed and engaged stakeholders from different parts of Europe who will commit to participate in two online meetings (on 9 March and 23 May 2023) and related activities in-between the meetings. The meetings will be held in English without interpretation.

The TG aims to be stakeholder-driven, inviting and including young rural stakeholders – principally people under 30 years of age from different EU rural areas – to join and have a significant say in shaping the discussions around rural youth employment. This will guarantee youth ownership of the TG outputs that won’t be only about youth but prepared by young people.

Expressions of interest can be submitted here or via the EU CAP Network website until 13 February 2023 at the latest.
