The challenge of gender equality in the forest sector became more evident with the commitments with 2030 Agenda – SDG 5 and recent inclusion inside forest certification systems Principle and Criteria of FSC. In 2020 the first forest gender outlook was launched and shows the presence of women in around 50% of total forest plantation area in Brazil. Gender disaggregated data is the first step towards a more equally sector. The side event aims to bring private sector views around the gender outlook findings and promote a discussion with participants around other scenarios and opportunities such as partnerships and ways forward.
