The Young African Forestry Professionals Publication project (YAFP) was launched by IFSA and IUFRO in 2021. The project’s overall goal is to motivate and inspire young people to pursue forest-related studies and careers in Africa by increasing the visibility of career options and young African role models working in forest-related fields. This will also help in offering visibility to the forestry profession in Africa. In order to raise awareness and promote the Young African Forestry Professionals publication project titled “Building a Successful Forestry Career in Africa: Inspirational Stories and Opportunities”, coordinated by the Joint IUFRO-IFSA Task Force on Forest Education, IFSA has launched an open call for Local Events across Africa in 2021.
Federal University of Technology, Akure – LC Futa has been chosen as one of the LCs to host this event. The event will span over 5 days, from February 16th to February 20th and will cove a range of different topics. On Day 2 – February 17th, many speakers including IFSA members are invited as speakers at the event. You can join the event using this link, and the event will be streamed on IFSA’s social media.
