Important dates to have in mind!

  • The arrival day will be on the 24th of August 2022.
  • The event will start on the 25th of August 2022 with a 4 day congres.
  • Technical tour will take place from the 29th of August till the 08th of September 2022.
  • Departure will be the 9th of September 2022
  • Pre-tour will start on the 18th and it will be organized in relation to the interests of the attendees.

In a context of constant change in a global scale, we as the students of the worlds forests believe that their value and understanding are key for the generation of actions that drive human society into a brighter future.

What is the IFSS?

  • Yearly meeting where more than 100 students from around the world get together to discuss and work on the future of the organization.
  • Different trending forest related topics are discussed with a world wide perspective, this can include: landscape restoration, biodiversity, timber production, non-timber forest products, community development, etc.
  • Previous events have been held in various countries such as Canada, Estonia, Mexico, Philippines, Austria, South Africa and many others.

 

IFSS 2022 in Chile

  • 50th Anniversary!

  • Discussions, plenaries and forums about Chile, its forest matrix, the states of its natural forests, its communities and what strategies and innovation the country is developing.
  • 15 days that consist of 4 days of congress at Campus San Joaquin PUC and Campus Sur UCh followed by a 10 day tour around the central south of Chile.

Impact and Format of the event

  • Hybrid event with in-person and virtual delegates of every University.

  • Facilitation of spaces for different actors involved in forest science and forest sector.

  • Networking sessions with local and international youth advocates.

  • Virtual transmission of different session live for Chilean civil society and all the rest of the world.
