IFSA-Hetauda Local Congress 2024 Report
INTRODUCTION
Local Congress is an annual event organized by IFSA-Hetauda. It is one of the flagship events of IFSA-Hetauda. This year IFSA-Hetauda organized 2nd Local Congress with the title “Local Congress 2024” with the theme “Greening Our Future: Local Action, Global Impact”.
Local Congress 2024 was a 2-day event. On the 1st day, Opening Ceremony, General Assembly and Capacity Building Workshop was organized. Similarly, on the 2nd day youth parliament session was organized on our theme and after that cultural night was organized.
PROGRAM BACKGROUND
On the first day, the program was inaugurated by our President, Mr. Anil Subedi, marking the beginning of the opening ceremony. We then presented messages of best wishes from our Regional Representatives, Miss Fiana Eka Aprilia and Mr. Abhidur Rahman. Following this, Mr. Hemanshu Kafle, Executive Secretary of IFSA for the 2024/25 term, gave a presentation about IFSA. We proceeded to review the programs and collaborations from the previous term, followed by an experience-sharing session from former board members. To wrap up the day, we held an engaging ice-breaking session and organized a capacity-building workshop aimed at enhancing the skills of our general members.
On the second day, we hosted a youth parliament on the theme “Greening Our Future: Local Action, Global Impact,” where students presented their thoughts both for and against the topic. This session proved to be highly informative and engaging. The day continued with a cultural night, which included activities such as prize distribution, certificate presentations to new members, the announcement of the new committee, various cultural performances, and a farewell to the outgoing committee.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the two-day event was a resounding success, bringing together a blend of insightful discussions, skill-building activities, and cultural celebrations. The opening day set a strong foundation with presentations, experience sharing, and workshops that enriched our members’ understanding and capabilities. The second day further solidified our commitment to sustainability through the thought-provoking youth parliament, while the cultural night fostered a sense of community and continuity as we celebrated achievements and welcomed new members and leaders. This event not only highlighted our collective dedication to positive change but also strengthened the bonds within our community, paving the way for future collaborations and initiatives.
