Northern Africa Regional Meeting (NARM) 2020

IFSA activities are organized at both international and regional levels. The Northern Africa Region, per IFSA description, has been one of such structures that holds yearly meeting, dubbed Northern Africa Regional Meeting (NARM), with the motive of fulfilling the vision and mission of IFSA but with much focus on issues pertaining to the region. The region consists of universities where local committees are planted and are registered members of IFSA in certain countries in Africa. The Northern Africa region countries include Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Sierra Leone, Mali, Cameroon, Morocco and Algeria. Some other Regions in the world are also welcomed to participate in the meeting.

This year NARM is focused on “The Role of The Youth in Landscape Restoration”. Already, millions of young people are responding to the call of sustainable landscapes through their active participation in global, regional and local discourses to demonstrate their activism, innovation and challenges. The objectives of the meeting will be;

To build a generation of young leaders pursuing sustainable landscape initiatives
To improve awareness of landscape restoration programmes among young people
To solicit youth-centered opinions, insights and best practices to inform the implementation of landscape programmes

EVENT DATES

NARM 2020 would take place between the 25th May and the 29th of May

PARTICIPATION

The summit is open to about 150 participants mostly from Northern Africa Region and the rest of the world. The summit is open to equally engaging Local, Regional and Global stakeholders in the area of Ecosystem Restoration and youth engagements in environmental policy development and implementation.
