Code of Conduct Committee Open Call

Dear IFSA Family,

During the 30th General Assembly (GA) of the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) in 2019 held in Estonia, the idea of the creation of an IFSA Code of Conduct was proposed and at the time it was realized how such a document would be important to the continuation of IFSA, and its spirit.

In IFSA, we have had some complicated situations of people overstepping their boundaries, that we feel we should have a stance on and a document on how to deal with these situations and to these members that overstep. This Code of Conduct should be a guideline on how to behave and what is and isn’t acceptable to do in interactions between IFSA members at events or outside of events in the official channels.

During the latest Board to Board meeting in Vienna this need was renewed, and it was decided that a Task Force should be created, independent of the IFSA Board, to write this document. The Task Force will be composed by IFSA members and Alumni.

We are looking for five members to join this committee that must follow the following prerequisites :

  • Be an IFSA member or alumni;
  • Have an interest in the topic;
  • Preferably have organized or participated in a previous IFSA Regional Meeting or the International Forestry Student’s Symposium;

This committee will have a term beginning on 10th of November as the five members are encountered to the IFSA GA, where its renewal will be put up to a vote by the IFSA members.

Send an email to opencall@ifsa.net, with the subject: Name of position you are applying – Applicant’s name to express the desire of becoming a member of the Task Force with a motivational letter. The Board will review the applications and let the applicants know until 20th.
