June 5, celebrated as World Environment Day established by the United Nations in 1972, it is the largest international environmental event with millions of people participating worldwide. It has evolved into a prominent global platform for promoting environmental awareness. It was set up to pay homage to what is considered the world’s first environmental summit, the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment. This year also we celebrated World Environment Day with the theme “Land Restoration, Desertification and Disaster Resilience” and slogan “our Land, Our Future”

On the morning of World Environment Day 2024, IFSA-HETAUDA held a program on cleanliness and planting. We began the morning by cleaning the compound of the Faculty of Forestry, AFU, Hetauda. We also planted a variety of species in the compound, grassland, and nursery.

Through a strategic initiative, the second program held in honor of World Environment Day 2024 aimed to reduce plastic pollution and improve environmental health by “exchanging 30 plastic bottles for a plant” participants were urged to support this admirable cause and demonstrate their dedication to sustainability and the preservation of our natural surroundings.

We appreciate everyone who took part in this program, which helped to make it more engaging, effective, and entertaining.
