Interregional Call: NA Meets SA Meets NE

On June 26, 2022, the regions of Northern Africa, Southern Africa, and Northern Europe met together on a video call to get to know each other, learn about each other’s culture, food and drinks, and forestry!

Thanks to the organization of the Regional Representatives (RRs) from the regions (Japheth and Eugene from Northern Africa, Doctor from Southern Africa, Carl and Johanna from Northern Europe), around 15 people from the three regions joined. They started the meeting in small breakout rooms, where they got to know new people from a different region and talked about their studies, interests in the forestry sector, and much more.

Afterwards, the RRs gave a presentation about each of their regions, sharing information, from IFSA to all the different foods and about forestry and forest management. After each presentation, there was some time for questions and comments.

Once the presentations finished, a general round of questions and further discussions followed during which especially differences in the forest management and forest sector were discussed.

People had a good time interacting with IFSA members and also learning about the culture, nature, forests and forest management across Northern Africa, Southern Africa and Northern Europe.
