Job Description
Background
The Design Sub-Commission focuses on all aspects of the graphical representation of IFSA to members and partners. Examples of projects include social media, promotional materials, web design, posters, and merchandise. The Design Sub-Commission works in relationship with Communications, Web, and Social Media, ensuring easy to interpret, inclusive, and effective online outreach. As design commissioner your role will be to assist the head of design to achieve the following duties and responsibilities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Producing and maintaining IFSA templates (Google Docs, business cards, certificates, etc.)
- Integrating IFSA templates into the Canva team.
- Design materials for promoting IFSA events on online platforms.
- Work together with Web Sub-Commission in updating the IFSA wheel structure, or web design in general.
- In general work on the design of an aspect of all IFSA projects
- Update the IFSA Brand Guidelines to ensuring the use of the proper use of the IFSA brand (logo, color palette, font)logo, color palette, and templates.
- Work together with Web Sub-Commission in updating the IFSA wheel structure, or web design in general.
- In general, work on the design of aspects of all IFSA projects, including Sub-Commissions, Regional Representatives, and IFSA Partners.
Skills and knowledge
- Having good designing skills with the Knowledge of Canva and other designing software is an asset.
- Experience with the common file formats (e.g. Vector graphics, the difference between e.g. TIFF and JPEG) is welcomed.
- Good designing skills
Estimated Workload
- On average, 3-5 hours per week depending on how many tasks/projects/design requests you’re working on, but the majority of the tasks need to follow external deadlines.
How to apply

- You need to be a member of an IFSA Local Committee and either be an active student or have graduated no longer than one year ago.
- Proficiency in English, as it is the official language of IFSA and therefore the only means of communication between Officials.
- Good internet connection: given the fact that all the work as an Official is done remotely (especially because of the travel restrictions imposed by COVID-19), a good internet connection is crucial to effectively accomplish your tasks.
- Access to a Computer or tablet.

The motivation letter should cover all the following points and be no longer than 800 words. Note that these points correspond to the criteria that are used to evaluate the motivation letter.

IFSA Membership verification
The IFSA membership needs to be verified in order to apply for an official position.
- LC Verification letter. A verification letter from your Local Committee (LC) signed by the President of your LC, verifying that you are a member of the LC in PDF format. In case you are the President of your LC, ask the Vice President to sign it. The headed letter of your LC must be used for the letter. Here you can find a template for the verification letter.
