Asia Pacific and Latin America Interregional Call

On Mar 27, 2022, the regions of Asia Pacific and Latin America met together on a video call to get to know each other, learn about each other’s culture, food, touristic locations and even some myths and legends!

Thanks to the organization of the Regional Representatives from both regions (Sofia and Ali from Asia Pacific, Steve and Benjamin from Latin America), nearly 30 people from both regions joined, and managed to enjoy a small icebreaker sharing where they are from and what their expectations were for the interregional call.

Afterwards, Asia Pacific gave a presentation about the region, sharing information from IFSA to food and a couple of legends and myths from countries like the Philippines. Then Latin America’s turn came, also sharing how the region has been doing in IFSA, tourist locations and a couple of myths: for example the Ox-less cart from Costa Rica, and The Nahuala from Mexico.

Right after that, people were sent to breakout rooms to introduce themselves, and share which country from the opposite region they would like to visit. Then they played Bring Me, where there was a list of objects they needed to find and bring in front of their cameras, while also building a Jamboard in the most creative way. For the final activity, there was a quiz with questions from the stories, where Noemi from Chile was the winner by only 22 points!

People loved having the chance to interact with members from another region and to also learn about everything they have to offer! And hoped there can be more spaces like this one.
