Cultural Day of Costa Rica
By: Kyle Joseph Quijano
Head of Cultural Competencies Sub-Commission
For the month of February, the wonderful country of Costa Rica was featured in the monthly Cultural Day of the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA). The event was held last February 18, 2022, at 2 pm UTC+0 on IFSA’s Discord Channel. Steve Guzmán who is currently the Latin American regional representative of IFSA was one of the speakers along with Satya Alvarado who is the Secretary of LC ESUTRO (a local committee of IFSA in Costa Rica). For the whole event, different members of IFSA from around the world were able to hear about the history and geography of Costa Rica, learn some common terms in Spanish, get a glimpse of the food and culture of the said country, and of course, understand how forestry works in Tiquicia (Costa Rica).
This event is just one of the monthly cultural day celebrations that are headed by the Cultural Competencies Sub-Commission. If you are interested, feel free to join us on the future #CulturalDays and get the chance to learn about the beautifully-diverse cultures of our co-members here in IFSA.
