Cultural Day of the Philippines

By: Kyle Joseph Quijano (Head of Cultural Competencies Sub-Commission)

The second “Cultural Day” for the term 2021-2022 was held last November 19, 2021, at 2 pm UTC+0 via Zoom Meetings. The country that was featured for this month was none other than the “Philippines”. With distinguished speakers Isabelle Claire Dela Paz – the current Internal Councilor 2021-2022, and Jean Laurence Reyes – Head of Language Sub-Commission 2021-2022, members of IFSA from around the world got the chance to learn the Philippines’s history and geography, some basic terms in Filipino, how is forestry in the Philippines, and the diverse Pinoy culture and its amazing variety of food. Something new was also added in the monthly cultural day of IFSA which is the “GAME TIME” – where members got the chance to put all of the things they have learned to test in a fun and interactive way to promote interactions between members.

This event is just one of the monthly cultural days headed by the Cultural Competencies Sub-Commission. We hope you can join us on the following #CulturalDays and get to learn more about the beautifully diverse cultures of our co-members here in IFSA.
