Since its creation, in 1993, the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) aims to raise awareness for the importance of Biological Diversity, who doesn’t only cover plant and animal species diversity but also genetic differences within the species as well as the ecosystems that host this species and their complex interactions.

This year’s theme is Our Solutions are in Nature, which can be understood in two senses, the first one being that we should follow nature’s example of exploiting a resource without threatening it’s sustainability. The second one is that we should take nature’s example of establishing complex interactions within various levels, emphasizing the need for solidarity and cooperation.

In this webinar, Luísa Falcão, from GYBN Brazil, and Diego Alonso Portugal del Pino, from the IUCN CEM, will discuss the role of youth leaders, the scientific community and of those influencing public policies on the battle for a diverse and sustainable future.

The event will be live-streamed on the IFSA Facebook page.
