The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March the International Day of Forests (IDF) in 2012. The Day celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests. On each International Day of Forests, countries are encouraged to undertake local, national, and international efforts to organise activities involving forests and trees, such as tree-planting campaigns. The theme for each International Day of Forests is chosen by the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.

The theme for 2022 is “Forests and sustainable production and consumption.”

In honour of this event, IFSA is organising a webinar titled “Unlocking the Bioeconomy and Non-Timber forest products”. We are honoured to have Dr. James Chamberlain, the coordinator of the IUFRO task force as the speaker for this webinar. The Webinar would be held on Saturday, 19th March  2022 at 14:00 UTC

The event will be held on Spatial chat which will be followed by an open discussion where the attendees get an opportunity to interact with the speaker and other participants.

The webinar and discussion would be followed by a Poster presentation by the winners of the Poster Contest.
