Getting to know IFSA – A New Term
This July, IFSA is hosting a series of four online sessions aimed at helping members better understand how the organization works, what principles guide it, and how to take a more active role within the network. A new term is starting in September 2025 which means thousands of IFSA members will get the change to apply to become an official within IFSA on the international stage.
From the values behind our Code of Conduct to the thinking behind our updated internal guidelines, this series is an invitation to learn, ask questions, and connect. Two of the sessions will be open roundtables, offering a space to talk informally about board roles and what it’s like to be an IFSA official.
These sessions are open to all members—whether you’re just getting to know IFSA or considering running for a leadership position.
Schedule:
IFSA and its Code of Conduct (12:00 UTC) Sunday, 6th July 2025
New to IFSA or still not sure what IFSA international does? Want to understand what guides the way we work together?
This first session will introduce IFSA as a global network—how it’s structured, how decisions are made, and what it means to be part of it. We’ll also talk about the Code of Conduct: why it exists and how it helps create a respectful, inclusive environment across our activities.

IFSA and its new Guidelines (13:00 UTC) Tuesday, 8th July 2025
How should IFSA function as an organization in today’s world?
This session looks beyond internal structure to the values that shape how we work together. IFSA’s newly revised internal guidelines aim to reflect who we are and where we’re heading—addressing questions like: What does it mean to be a non-political organization in political times? Or how do we approach conscious travel and environmental responsibility as an international organisation?
We’ll walk through some of the updates and open the floor to hear your thoughts. This isn’t just about presenting rules, it’s about discussing the principles behind them. Your feedback helps us shape IFSA’s working culture together.
