IFSA Dialogue: Bridging Science-to-Policy Transfer in the Forestry Sector

In the face of climate change and environmental challenges, the role of forests in carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem resilience has never been more critical. However, despite the wealth of scientific knowledge available, integrating research findings into policy making remains a significant challenge. How can we bridge this gap and ensure that forest policies are informed by the latest science?

The International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) is hosting “IFSA Dialogue: Bridging Science-to-Policy Transfer in Forestry Sector” in commemoration the International Day of Forest 2025, to explore this crucial topic, bringing together experts from leading institutions such as IUFRO, FAO, EFI, and Forests Europe. It will shed light on the barriers and opportunities in translating scientific research into forestry policies. Participants will gain insights into policy advocacy, knowledge co-production, and existing mechanisms that connect researchers with policymakers.
