Living Story Book – Addressing Gender in Forestry
The idea of the living story book is to provide a platform where both IFSA members and non-IFSA members can share their stories and experiences they have made with regards to gender in the forestry sector or in forest education. A welcoming sharing space where all are provided the opportunity to impact from their stories likewise learn from that of others.
Different from scientific articles and reports, stories are memorable and relatable. In storytelling, we connect, inspire and share experiences with others. Stories allow us to learn from the experiences of others and in a familiar perspective thus, we (the Gender sub-commission) use the term ‘living’ as to say that these stories are brought to life in the mind of the reader in an interactive and dynamic way as we hope to get stories from a diverse community.
Your stories will be collected and published online, making them available to everyone who would like to read them. Of course, you can stay anonymous and choose for yourself if your e.g., your name, gender or region should be published alongside the story. The IFSA Gender Sub-Commission will highly appreciate the stories to get a better impression of gendered experiences people within the forestry sector currently make. The stories will support the Sub-Commission’s work and might lead to future activities.
On this note, we invite you all to take part in this ongoing project .
