MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) RENEWAL BETWEEN CIFOR-ICRAF AND IFSA REPORT

BOGOR, Indonesia — The Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) and the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) have renewed their partnership through the signing of an amendment to their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The renewed agreement, effective from 1 March 2024, extends a decade-long collaboration and continues for an additional five years, further strengthening our partnership.

This MoU outlines a continued commitment between CIFOR-ICRAF and IFSA to advance knowledge sharing, professional development, and youth engagement in forestry-related research.
Cora van Oosten, Director of Capacity Development and Education at CIFOR-ICRAF, stated, “By extending this collaboration, CIFOR-ICRAF and IFSA reaffirm their shared goals of supporting the next generation of forestry professionals and advancing forestry education globally.” She added that a range of initiatives is aimed at building capacities in forestry education, promoting scientific activities, and enhancing collaboration between students, young professionals, and the research community.

IFSA President, Theresa Klara Loch, commented, “This renewed partnership opens up exciting opportunities for our members to engage with leading research organizations and contribute to impactful forestry education initiatives.”
