Mushroom Hunt: A report from LC Copenhagen
by Johanna Händeler and Theresa Klara Loch
On the 26th of September the LC Copenhagen invited everyone to join the first event after the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of new and old faces showed up to spend a wonderful Sunday in the forest and take the challenge of hunting mushrooms. We learned about the characteristics of edible species, but also about the ones that should not be eaten. After the informative hike in the sunny forest, the satisfactory “loot” was distributed and taken home for a delicious dinner.
Mushroom species we discovered:
Tasty: Black trumpet mushroom, honey mushroom, bay bolete, garlic mushroom, puffball, Hares ear, chanterelle and different Russolas.
Poisonous/non edible: Ramaria, the common stinkhorn, amethyst deceiver, different anamanitas (like amanita virosa) and many more we didn’t remember.
