Dear IFSA World,

Unfortunately the Treasurer elected at the 26th General Assembly in 2015 has been dismissed. As such, Council and Direction (together known as IFSA 7) are looking for a new Treasurer. The Treasurer is a member of Direction, in addition to the President, Vice-President, and Secretary. The Treasurer is responsible for the financial management of IFSA and specifically:

  1. Work closely with IFSA Secretariat in financial matters

  2. Initiate and guide the fundraising activities for the organization, often collaborating with the Fundraising Commission

  3. Prepare and present the budget for approval of the General Assembly (yearly)

  4. Prepare and present a financial report for approval of the General Assembly (yearly)

  5. Manage transaction and reimbursements for all IFSA transactions

The role of Treasurer is a time-intensive and important element to IFSA’s World functions. As such, there are several expectations and requirements. Among them are the following:

  1. Available during weekdays to check emails and participate in telecommunication and virtual meetings

  2. Have a stable internet connection so as to facilitate internet reimbursements and bank transfers

  3. Be able to work in a collaborative and engage in discussion on IFSA strategy, structure, and fundraising actions with the rest of IFSA7

  4. Have a basic command of arithmetics and excel, and a basic understanding of English in order to facilitate budget and financial reporting for the General Assembly

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Detail oriented;

  • An excellent verbal and written communicator and can produce professional and formal reports;

  • Has excellent time management skills;

  • Has prior experience leading a team of volunteers and/or chairing a committee;

  • Self motivated and has strong team building skills;

  • Be a current ordinary IFSA member or have graduated within one year;

  • Be from an IFSA LC

  1. Up-to-date CV;

  2. Cover Letter detailing motivation for applying and qualifications for role;

  3. Short essay of 250 words describing what you would bring to the role as well as IFSA 7

  4. Short essay 250 words describing your personality;

  5. Short 250 words describing your understanding of the structure and operations of IFSA; and

  6. Letter of verification by LC President stating that you are a member of the LC.

IFSA Council and Direction reserve the right to follow-up the application process with interviews if necessary.
