The Earth is on the brink of catastrophe. We are on track for 3°C of global warming by 2100; On top of a global pandemic that has claimed millions of lives and wreaked economic havoc, the climate emergency is worsening as the world witnesses record-high temperatures, widespread drought, wildfires and increasingly unpredictable floods. GLF Climate has taken the initiative to organise the inclusive and solution-oriented GLF Climate Hybrid Conference. The three-days event is going to be a hub of cutting-edge information, connection of key-actors, and catalyzing evidence-based action to find solutions to climate change.
Forest is the necessary resource to combat climate change; therefore it is important to keep our forest alive and healthy. On the opening day of GLF Climate, the sessions will focus on protection of the forests while still meeting other socio-economic and development goals. On the second day, it will focus on ways to reconfigure the global food system, from ending food waste to overhauling commodity chains as it has been found that food production alone has the capacity to send us past 1.5°C of warming by 2050. There is also a necessity of having enough financial strength to fight against the possibility of a 20% rise in global GDP by 20% by 2050 because of climate change. On the final day of the hybrid conference, at the 5th Investment Case Symposium, we will get the opportunity to hear from leading thinkers and businesses on solutions to sustainable finance. The three-days event will showcase the inspiring and enriching sessions with policymakers, Indigenous leaders, writers, royalty, youth activists, scientists and many more in strategizing our way to a better future.
The participants and delegates would get a chance to witness from the multitudes of sessions, to get involved. The event will feature Plenaries, Interactive sessions, Climate talks with thought leaders, Global launches, A film festival, A digital exhibition center, Youth Daily Shows, and Climate Cafes.
