IFSA is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual who would like to serve IFSA as the Head of social media sub-commission for the 2018-2019 term of office.

The main task of the position is to oversee the management of IFSA’s interests in the social media space, running IFSA’s main social media platforms which include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. The head of the Sub-Commission is expected to keep in constant touch with the members of the sub-commission as well as Head of communications commissions and the heads of sub-commissions in the communications commission as this is relevant to maintaining the brand of IFSA.

Duties and responsibilities.

  • Delivering updates to both the IFSA Facebook page and group, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter account; these updates may include announcements, questions to the audience, new items and other general notices to curate content to engage the IFSA audience.

  • Ensuring the proper management of the passwords of IFSA’s social media platforms.

  • Establish close contact with the contact persons of an event well before the event happens, to ensure there is a person creating real-time social media content ‘’from the ground.

  • Utilizing and updating the IFSA calendar to help with organizing IFSA events’ social media

  • Respond to public enquiries made against Facebook posts and tweets.

  • Engagement with IFSA partners by sharing/or retweeting the content from their respective social media accounts.

  • Managing the IFSA Facebook group including the approval of new members and vetting new public posts.

  • Respond to public enquiries received via private message on Facebook and direct message on twitter, directing enquiries to more suitable contacts if required.

  • Supporting the growth of IFSA’s online reach through new media.

  • Identifying new strategies to increase special media engagement and IFSA brand recognition.

  • Create a monthly social media work-plan with topics and events to cover to ensure continuous and regular posting

Required skills and abilities

  1. Fluency in written English is required to uphold a professional public image of the association.

  2. Excellent communications skills is also required in order to follow up events in which IFSA or its partners are involved.
