Open Call: UNFF 20 Delegation

The 20th Session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF 20) will take place in the
United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States from the 5th to the 9th May, 2025. As
the official Constituency of the Children and Youth Major Group to UNFF, IFSA aims to bring
young voices to global forest policy discussions. Like previous years, IFSA is going to send a
delegation of selected individuals to the event to learn, gain experiences and raise the voice of
the youth towards achieving the United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests (UNSPF) and Global
Goals on Forest.

The UNFF is a high-level platform focused on sustainable forest management worldwide. The
forum provides an opportunity for policymakers, stakeholders, and organizations to collaborate
on global forest-related challenges and solutions. At UNFF 20, discussions will focus on
implementing the UNSPF 2030, addressing climate change, biodiversity conservation, and the
socio-economic benefits of forests. Youth engagement is critical to these discussions, and IFSA
delegates will play a key role in amplifying youth perspectives.
Consequently, we are inviting applications to join the delegation for this event. We regret that
IFSA is unable to provide full funding; however, you may apply for support through the IFSA
Development Fund, though this will only cover a small portion of your expenses. . Delegates are
encouraged to take care of their own travel, visa, accommodation, and food expenses and to
seek sponsorship or funding opportunities. Delegates will be prioritized based on their
motivation and competencies that they can contribute to the event as well as their ability to
attend.

We are looking forward to your applications!
