Forestry Certification Survey

What is Certification?

Certification is a set of standards developed to define good practices. In relation to forests in the production of timber and non-timber forest products these standards cover how forests are cared for and how products are produced sustainably and responsibly.

When landowners or producers follow these standards, their forests or products can become certified. This signals that they meet requirements in areas such as sustainability, protecting nature, and supporting local communities.

For consumers, certification is a guide. It helps you identify products that come from responsibly managed forests, making it easier and clearer to support sustainable practices, in essence providing some transparency into the origin of the product or land in which the product originated.
