IFSA Volunteers for the All-IUFRO Conference

The International Union for Forestry Research Organizations (IUFRO) is looking for in person volunteers to attend and help them in this year’s All-IUFRO Conference, to be held in Vienna, Austria from the 21- 23 of September. IUFRO would be able to sponsor the registration fee (for both conference and excursion) for up to 8 participants who are willing to support the conference as volunteers. The sponsorship is for the waiver of eight (8) registration fees only (including the provided excursion lunch and dinner, coffee breaks, lunches and conference dinner); no support is possible for travel, accommodation, subsistence or other costs.

Volunteer tasks

Some of the tasks to be done as a volunteer are:

  1. Assisting speakers, session leads, and other teams as needed
  2. Greeting conference attendees
  3. Showing the way to rooms or information
  4. Taking photos and providing accompanying captions

A short meeting will be arranged (online) prior to the event to brief volunteers about the event, clarify roles, schedules and answer any questions (as needed). The conference will explore the critical roles of research for the conservation and sustainable management of forests and trees under rapidly changing environmental, economic and social conditions. The program, developed jointly by IUFRO Divisions, Task Forces and Special Programs and Projects, will place a particular focus on the importance of forests in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The global conference, conducted in English, will include scientific plenaries in different formats, a poster session, mentoring program, a professional field trip as well as a conference dinner. More information on the conference, including description of the excursion and the programme overview can be found here: https://www.iufro.org/events/all-iufro-conference-2022/
