In occasion of the 30th Session of the North American Forest Commission (NAFC), the Forestry Department of FAO invites IFSA members to join this event to learn and give a voice to youth in the Northern American region.

Established in 1958, the North American Forest Commission (NAFC) is one of six Regional Forestry Commissions established by FAO to provide a policy and technical forum for countries to discuss and address forest issues on a regional basis. It meets every two years. NAFC also supports research and sustainable natural resource management activities through working groups.

FAO encourages wide participation of government officials from forestry and other sectors as well as representatives of international, regional and subregional organizations that deal with forest-related issues in the region, including NGOs, and the private sector.

As observer during the event, IFSA will send a delegation of 3 members to give support and empowerment to forestry student in the region, encouraging them to participate and engage at the upcoming NAFC 2019.

The event will be held at the University Center of the University of Montana, in Missoula (Montana, USA) from September 9th until September 12th 2019.

Partial reimbursement will be provided for travel and accommodation expenses.

You can find the link for the registration form to the open call here.
