Youth Water Action – Conservation of Coastal Ecosystem in Southeast Asia
Calling attention to the topic of water conservation in the APAC region, this March, IFSA organised a youth-led speaker session titled “Youth Water Action – Conservation of Coastal Ecosystem in Southeast Asia” in collaboration with our co-organizers UN MYCP (United Nations Migration Youth and Children Platform) and the Oceanus Conservation.

Our speakers, Frances Camille Rivera (Oceanus Conservation), Noor Maullidina (IFSA), and Aidan Luchs (UN MYCP), spoke at length about their experiences and learnings, including several key points of discussion and audience interactions.
Focussing on the intersection of the three pillars: indigenous communities, marine & coastal conservation, and youth action – the young leaders spoke about their initiatives, case studies, and experiences in the area. The main highlight was on the application of indigenous knowledge and its impact on coastal environment protection through youth-led action for a sustainable future. Projects created by youth, project implementation via monitoring, and good water activities were emphasised to encourage future generations to participate in water conservation.
