IFSA Partners and Processes

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that as the primary goal has to eradicate the world’s hunger and improve nutrition and food security. The Forestry Department of FAO works on sustainable management of the world’s forests which are playing a vital role in achieving the ultimate goals.

International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) is an intergovernmental organization promoting the sustainable management and conservation of tropical forests. Furthermore, they are working on the expansion and diversification of international trade in tropical timber from sustainably managed and legally harvested forests.

International Union for Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists, which promotes global cooperation in forest-related research and enhances the understanding of the ecological, economic and social aspects of forests and trees.
